Walk in the Park_edited.png

The process of walk and talk therapy begins with the client and therapist agreeing upon a location, which is typically discussed during the initial intake session. During the therapy sessions, the client takes the lead in determining the pace of the walk, allowing for a more organic and flexible experience. Walk and talk therapy has been found to be effective in addressing various issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, self-esteem issues, life transitions, stress, anger, and bereavement. By combining the benefits of psychotherapy, physical activity, and nature, this approach offers a unique and holistic way to support individuals in their therapeutic journey.  Please ask for more details.

Play therapy

Play therapy is a structured therapeutic approach that leverages the natural communication and learning processes of children. Christina utilizes the healing aspects of play to help children express their emotions and thoughts when they lack the verbal skills to do so. Toys serve as the child's words, and play serves as their language, aiding in the development of adaptive behaviors and addressing emotional or social deficits. The positive bond formed between therapist and child during play therapy sessions can lead to a healing experience, while also promoting cognitive growth and resolving inner conflicts.

Videogame therapy

Christina firmly believes that video games have a positive impact on mental health. She points out how video games have been used in therapy to address trauma, depression, and isolation. She also mentions the existence of prescription video games for ADHD. Moreover, Christina highlights the social aspect of video games, as they encourage conversations and help individuals develop communication skills and establish connections with others. Despite parents' concerns about video games disconnecting their children from reality, Christina argues that video games offer a unique immersive and rewarding experience. She considers video games as a form of art that conveys messages, and emphasizes the importance of parents being knowledgeable about the games their children play and discussing both positive and negative experiences with them. By adopting this approach, Christina aims to create a comfortable and trusting atmosphere for clients to discuss their daily experiences and continue addressing goals during therapy sessions.

Neurodiversity therapy is centered on acknowledging the distinctive strengths and cognitive processes of individuals with ADHD, which can prove beneficial in different environments like work, education, and social situations. The therapy offers a variety of personalized techniques tailored to address specific requirements, including strategies to boost focus, enhance social interaction abilities, and improve executive functioning skills. It aims to leverage your or your child's strengths, values, and objectives to foster growth and skill development. In the case of older children and young adults, the focus may shift towards enhancing independent living skills.

Humanistic therapy is rooted in humanistic psychology, which emphasizes the inherent goodness of people. It takes a holistic approach by considering the entirety of a person rather than isolating specific aspects of their life. By highlighting an individual's strengths and positive attributes, humanistic therapy promotes healing and self-fulfillment. There are several types of humanistic therapy, including client-centered therapy, existential therapy, Gestalt therapy, logotherapy, and narrative therapy. Each of these approaches offers a distinct perspective on personal growth and well-being.
